GRACE's Advanced Placement© Program
We're pleased to offer two Advanced Placement (AP) classes to our seniors: AP Calculus AB and AP British Literature. The AP Program is sponsored by the College Board, and enables our students to take college-level courses and exams and gives them the opportunity to earn college credit,
placement, or both.
Most colleges and universities in the United States, as well as colleges
and universities in more than 30 other countries, have an AP policy granting incoming students credit, placement, or both on the basis of their AP
Exam grades.
AP courses at GRACE are taught by teachers that have been certified to teach AP from the College Board. Our course syllabi have been approved as AP courses by the College Board. These courses are taught at a college level and usually require more work at home for our students than our other courses. For this reason, AP courses are weighted a full point higher than other courses (an A is worth a 5.0 on a 4.0 scale, a B is worth a 4.0, and so on).
Students in AP courses are expected to take the AP Exam in May. These exams are given at GRACE and usually last three hours each.
Please go to our Mathematics page for more information on AP Calculus, or go to our English page for more information on AP British Literature.
