Bible:

Old Testament Survey:

Bible for the Seventh Grade is a survey of the Old Testament. The course takes a biographical approach, focusing on the life story of major biblical characters who encountered God. Priority is given to the background, content and chronology of the narrative genre in order to give the student a sense of the flow of Old Testament history, yet Hebrew poetry and prophecy are touched on briefly.

At key points, the texts will be applied through an interpretive process which begins with the historical situation directed at the original audience, which is then distilled down to a timeless principle emphasizing the commonality between their time and ours. It is after this that we come up with a modern application. Thus the Old Testament teachings and principles are applied to the student’s life in order to achieve character formation.
