As a result of this course the student should be able to explain the foundations of civilization. It is the story of the Kingdom of God. It is God's rule of the world. The student will be able to explain the various foundational principles found in the first 12 chapters of Genesis and how those principles affect contemporary life. The student will demonstrate sound reasoning and clear understanding of Scripture in response to the material presented.
Evaluation of the students learning will involve projects, both oral and written, readings, scripture memorization, quizzes and exams.
The student will be expected to bring their Bible, notebook, and coversheet to each class. As quizzes are given regularly, the student will have a supply of paper cut into half-sheets. Failure to do this will be considered unprepared for class.
Students have a planning book given to them at the beginning of the year. The student is responsible to keep their assignments written in their books. If the student comes to class unprepared, they will receive the consequences for that action.
Late work will lose a letter-grade per day that it is late. If I make an assignment and a conflict arises, it is up to the student to make me aware of it soon so that there is not a conflict when the assignment is due. Remember Telling me that you are going to Hawaii the week the assignment is due is too late. While I will be very happy for you, the paper is still due. If you are sick, make arrangements to get the paper to school. Convenient sickness on the due date is unacceptable. There is no excuse for not having a long-term or running project ready on the day it is due.
