Junior High and High School Bible

 

Education: I graduated from Columbia Bible College in 1999 with a double major -- a BS in Bible and a BS in Bible Teaching. I'm currently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I'm a candidate for a Master of Divinity in Christian Apologetics.

Years in Education: I started teaching in 1999, and I started teaching at Grace in January 2005.

Why I became a teacher: I became a teacher because I found out teaching was my gift and I couldn't think of anything better to teach than God's Word! I used to want to be a rock star, but God showed me that I could make more disciples in the classroom, and plus, I enjoyed it.

Favorite Teacher: My favorite teacher was Mr. Melchior. He was my Bible teacher. I would hang out after class and ask him questions and we had some great talks. When I graduated from Bible College, he gave me his job!!

Hobbies:Reading, Camping, Playing guitar, Ropes courses.

Pets: No. If God wanted animals to live in houses, He would have given them the ability to build them! If I find an animal in my house, I will either cook it and eat it, kick it out, or make it get a job and start paying rent!

Favorite Scripture: I have three of them. The first is Jeremiah 29:13 " And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Because it guarantees that those who truly seek the Lord will find Him and be found by Him. The second is Ezra 7:10 " For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments." Because it's a great mission statement for Bible teachers! And, the third is I Peter 3:15 " But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" because it is one that we must study theology and apologetics to obey.

Favorite Subject in School: Bible!!

Favorite Food: Buffalo wings and Japanese Steakhouses.
