Extended Care

Extended Care is a program offered to working parents who need child care for their students before or after school.

Extended Care is from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..

The cost is $3.00 per hour per child or $.75 per 15 minutes or any part thereof. After 6:00 p.m. the cost is $10.00 for the first 5 minutes and $1.00 for every minute afterwards. Charges are calculated by GCA extended care personnel using the school clock as official time.

You will be sent a statement on the 1st of each month for the prior month's charges. This statement will be due upon receipt. If it is not paid by the 15th, a 5% late fee will be assessed and your child will not be allowed to receive grades until all accounts are paid in full. Your child will not be allowed to continue in our program if your account goes beyond 30 days past due. For example, if your September 1 payment is not made by September 30, your child will not be allowed in class on October 1.

POLICIES:

A child must never be left on campus unattended before 7:00 a.m.

All students dropped off at GCA before 8:15 a.m. will be sent to extended care. If you do not want to be assessed fees for extended care, drop off your child after 8:15 a.m. and pick them up before 3:15 p.m.

Extended care is only available on days when school is in session for a full day. There is no extended care when school is in session for a half day. Please consult your school calendar for holidays and in-service days.

Children who become ill must be picked up immediately. You will be notified by phone in such cases.

Parents who wish to regulate those who can pick up their child must sign a release authorization form and keep it current. Children will be released only to those on the release form when you request this service.

A child who does not respect the authority of those in charge may lose the privilege of extended care.

GCA requests that your child leave all personal toys at home. If toys are brought to school, it must be done at the child's personal risk of loss or damage to that toy.
